2017 World Marathon Challenge Locations & Schedule

The 2017 World Marathon Challenge is scheduled to begin on 23rd January at Union Glacier, Antarctica. There is no exact time for the start as it is entirely subject to weather conditions. The second marathon will occur in Punta Arenas, Chile on 24th January, and competitors will then fly around the world by charter plane on the following flight timetable:
MARATHON 1 - UNION GLACIER, ANTARCTICA - 23 JANUARY
The Antarctica leg will take place on a 4-loop course at Union Glacier.
MARATHON 2 - PUNTA ARENAS, CHILE - 24 JANUARY - 05:00
The South America event will begin on the promenade in Punta Arenas , Chile, across from Diego de Almagro Hotel, on an out and back course of several loops.
MARATHON 3 - MIAMI, USA - 25 JANUARY - 06:30
The North America event wil begin at Miami Beach and operates on a four-loop course.
MARATHON 4 - MADRID, SPAIN - 26 JANUARY - 12 NOON
The European event will begin at 'Casa de Campo' park, just 50 metres from 'Restaurante Montaloya', and wil be operated on an out and back course of several loops.
MARATHON 5 - MARRAKECH, MOROCCO - 27 JANUARY - 08:00
The African leg will be on a multi-loop course not far from Kenzi Farah hotel where compeitors are expected to sleep for several hours before beginning the marathon.
MARATHON 6 - DUBAI, UAE - 28 JANUARY - 09:00
The Asian leg will start at The Beach (life guard tower) at the end of Al Atthar Road, down from Safa Park, and takes place on a 10-lap circuit.
MARATHON 7 - SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - 29 JANUARY - 22:00
Competitors are expected to start their seventh marathon at Manly Beach at 22:00 on 29th January. We hope all will finish within 168 hours of having started the first one in Antarctica!
