Participants are responsible for checking the visa and entry requirements for every country on the World Marathon Challenge® route, including South Africa, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Brazil, and the United States.
You may use resources such as the Sherpa Travel Restrictions Map for general guidance. However, requirements can vary according to your nationality and may change without notice. You should always confirm the latest information with the relevant embassy, consulate, or foreign ministry in your country.
No visa is required to enter Antarctica.
For U.S. citizens and many European passport holders, the trip simply requires online travel authorizations or visas for Australia and Brazil.
Requirements vary by passport, so please check the rules that apply to your nationality.
If required, RUNBUK can provide a confirmation letter to support your visa application. Please contact us as early as possible if you need this documentation.

Please make sure your passport:
- Is valid for at least six months beyond the end of your trip.
- Has enough blank pages for any required entry and exit stamps.
- Is in good condition and will remain valid throughout the entire journey.
As a general guideline, each participant may bring:
- One suitcase weighing up to 23 kg
- One carry-on bag; a duffel bag is recommended
- One backpack
Because baggage capacity is limited during the expedition, please pack carefully and bring only what you need. If you have special requirements or need to bring additional luggage, please contact RUNBUK in advance. We will do our best to accommodate reasonable requests, subject to available space and operational restrictions.
Participants should also be prepared to keep essential personal items, medication, travel documents, and valuables in their carry-on bag or backpack.
